Chris Dhaenens has a degree in Eastern Philology, Linguistics, and Science Philosophy. After completing the Liu Wai Sang Mastercourse he studied at the European University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Antwerp and at the International Acupuncture Training Center in Beijing. He specialized in Western herbology at the Ky Lin Institute in The Hague.

Besides teaching TCM (herbal medicine, qi gong, and acupuncture) in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, and Switzerland, he is the President of O.P.P.A.S., a foundation coordinating the quality- and safety-control of Oriental herbal medicinal substances. O.P.P.A.S. is a representative organ in the Belgian and European commissions on phytopharmaceutical regulations.
