Elisabeth Rochat de la Vallée, PhD

Elisabeth Rochat de la Vallée was born in Paris in 1949. She studied literature, philosophy, and Chinese in Paris and Taiwan. From 1970 onward she collaborated with the late Fr. Claude Larre and Dr. Jean Schatz on classical Chinese thinking and medical texts. She worked for 30 years with Fr. Larre at the Ricci Institut in Paris and was its Secretary General until 2005. She teaches at the Jesuit University in Paris. She also teaches at the European School of Acupuncture and is now the Senior Lecturer there. For 12 years she worked on the Grand Ricci (a Chinese-French encyclopedic dictionary) and was its Chief Editor from 1998 to 2001. Elisabeth teaches Chinese philosophy, classical language, and traditional medicine in more than 14 countries and at various universities and schools. She has written numerous books and pamphlets which have been published in French, English, and Italian, among other languages. [top of page] | [back] |
