A state-of-the-art tool for planning functional neurosurgery

 Description

Expanded and upgraded from bestselling Cerefy® atlases, The Cerefy® Clinical Brain Atlas: Enhanced Edition with Surgical Planning and Intraoperative Support provides you with high-tech tools for planning functional neurosurgery, including surgery for Parkinson's disease. Combining interactive electronic versions of three classic Thieme atlases (Atlas for Stereotaxy of the Human Brain, Co-Planar Stereotaxtic Atlas of the Human Brain, and Referentially Oriented Cerebral MRI Anatomy) with a newly created probabilistic functional atlas, this software allows you to:

  • Load a patient-specific image and rotate, pan, and flip it horizontally to fit the patient image to the coordinate system/individualized atlas

  • Individualize the Schaltenbrand/Wahren atlas by warping it in one, two, or three dimensions

  • Blend the individualized Schaltenbrand/Wahren atlas with the patient-specific image

  • Retrieve the names of the structures (labels) from the individualized Schaltenbrand/Wahren atlas

  • Plan the target and entry points on the individualized Schaltenbrand/Wahren atlas

  • Edit the trajectory by changing the target and entry point coordinates or by editing the coronal and sagittal angles

  • Display the trajectory on two orthogonal views

  • Plan up to 5 stereotactic tracks

  • Display and manipulate the probabilistic functional atlas of the subthalamic nucleus co-registered spatially with the Schaltenbrand/Wahren atlas

  • Enhance the target point coordinates by employing the probabilistic functional atlas

  • Simulate electrode insertion with the label and probability readout at the electrode tip

  • Annotate the electrode track with recording and stimulation findings, labels, and distances to the target point and the intercommissural plane

  • Display a variable (from 1 to 20 mm) rectangular grid with 1 mm step for referencing and checking

  • Print and save the surgery plan along with the electrode track annotations

  • This software brings surgical planning to an entirely new level, and is an important tool for all neurosurgeons who perform functional neurosurgery.
