Review: The first part of this atlas, General Anatomy and Musculoskeletal system, is quite fantastic! I use it extensively. The combination of pictures and concise yet relevant text is virtually perfect.

Review: This is by far one of the best resources I have amassed in the years I have been studying anatomy. It is now one of the most frequently referenced atlases I own. Beautifully illustrated and traces the paths of major vessels and nerves unlike any other atlas I own or have seen.

Review: The Atlas of Anatomy series is amazing!

By far, this is the best atlas series available and as a medical student, I would recommend the three atlases to anyone who studies in the field of anatomy. I can't wait to purchase my own copies!

Review: Hands-down the best looking musucloskeletal illustrations I have seen. An indispensible tool for our sports performance and exercise rehabilitation facility. I refer to it daily. The muscle schematic and cross-sectional diagrams are unique and helpful.

I like the organization based on Upper Limb, Lower Limb, Trunk Wall, etc, particularly the color coding. However, it would be nice to have an easier way to identify the subsections (bone, muscle, nerve, etc.) Also, it would be very handy to have muscle synergists and antagonists listed in the muscle tables.

Great work!

Review: This is the most wonderful and beautiful line of anatomy books I have ever encounterd. I can just sit and look at the pages as if it were a child's picture book. I love all the different views of the same structure and the attention to detail. Thank you for this wonderful learning tool!

Review: It [the atlas] is beautifully done, well illustrated, asthetically pleasing, and has an excellent balance of text and artwork. … The combination of beautiful, and anatomical correct, illustrations and succinct text provide the user of this book a powerful educational tool….As regards its anatomical value (quality of illustrations, clarity, quantity, usefulness, etc) this Atlas simply has no limitations; it is outstanding. This is a book every teacher of gross anatomy must have in their personal library….Overall, this is an excellent contribution to the anatomical literature that should find an appreciative and loyal following.

Review: Artwork is exceptional….I like the enlarged size of images where the region being studied is shown in a very enlarged image -highly useful during dissection….I especially like the tiny locator images. this allows the origin/insertion to be instantly seen on a stylized diagram…. I REALLY like the stepwise progression down to the labeled attachments in the muscle images.

Review: The concept including General Anatomy, was most heartening. We have stopped learning General anatomy which is the mother of Clinical Anatomy….Besides medical students, this book will be a good "to keep" book for repeat visiti by any practioner in Rehab & Physical Medicine, Sports Medicine, Emergency Medicine, etc and help teachers in Clinical Anatomy who are not MDs to review the clinical correlation of their teaching material…

Review: The new Atlas of Anatomy is amazing. Honestly. The quality of the plates is the best I have seen, and the views presented are extraordinarily effective in conveying both anatomical and kinesiological principles….It [the atlas] has plate after plate that allow them to easily distinguish each of those individual muscles, even managing to demystify the obscure obturator externus.

Review: The quality of the large size illustrations is remarkable and the labelling has just the right amount of detail with excellent clarity. The book has made review of anatomy enjoyable, has helped me better interpret radiographic imaging and better understand what my surgical colleagues are accomplishing. The book should also prove useful as a valuable aid in patient education.

Review: I am very impressed with the Thieme Atlas of Anatomy and highly recommend it as a valuable reference source for anatomical studies. The combination of the most beautiful anatomy art I have ever seen and excellent, concise text make this book a great source of information, all for a very reasonable price…The minute you open this book you want to explore it in more detail. Thanks for this outstanding addition to the anatomy book market. I look forward to the two companion atlases that will accompany this book.

Review: This Thieme atlas of musculoskeletal anatomy far surpasses any illustrated anatomy book I've ever used… The pictures are a perfect 3D compliment to lifelong study of the human body, and very useful as a teaching tool for many therapists….This text will have a tremendous impact on my therapists ability to learn and to put into practice various modalities of tx. Thank you for this wonderful contribution to the medical and healthcare community!

Review: As an artist and sculptor this book is the diffenitive anatomy text book offering multiple view, cross sections, insertions and area placement of the muscles and bones of the human body. The illustrations are beautifully clear and concise. I have several anatomy books and this tops them all on realistic anatomy.

Review: As a Pilates insructor not a medical student, I feel a need for a basic understanding of anatomy. This book is so beautifully illustrated I feel as though I have journeyed inside of the body. I consider myself an intense visual learner and this book has been a wonderful teacher!!!!!

Review: I may not be a doctor, or even a medical student, but as a yoga teacher interested in deep anatomical function and structure, I am always looking for reference material. When I first received notice that this book existed, I was first intrugued by the images. I have spent many an hour immersed in Frank Netter's legendary atlas, as well as Kapandji's incredible three volume set on the structure and physiology of the spine and joints. But after receiving this book I have gained more insight into the musculoskeletal system than I ever would have hoped from a single book. The illustrations are just astonishing, and the design and layout of the presentation is logical and well organized. I especially enjoy the sections on functional muscle groups, which provide detailed information for a given muscle, including origin, insertion, actions and innervation. When you reference this information with the illustrations, it is easy to see structural functionality. The illustrators have cleverly implemented the use of transparency and layering to give clear insight into complex areas of interest. Now I can cross reference topics between Kapandji's books and Tom Myers' (incredible) Anatomy Trains book with Thieme's atlas, and all is crystal clear. This book combines anatomical images with structural function in the clearest and most stunning way. My hat is way off to the illustrators for all their hard work and flawless design.

Review: I'm a practicing massage therapist for the past 28 years. I love anatomy and appreciate good books wherever they may be found. This one is one of the best - beautiful graphics, excellent text, unusual perspectives. If you like to collect anatomy books like I do, this one belongs on your shelf. My only regret is that I didn't go for the hardbound version.

Review: This atlas has some of the best artistic renderings I've seen for human anatomy.
