New York, December 19, 2006 - Thieme Publishers is pleased to announce that starting in 2007 Skull Base: An Interdisciplinary Approach will appear six times per year. The peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal publishes vital information for skull base surgeons.

Skull Base's evolution from a quarterly to a bi-monthly is attributed to the rise in new society affiliations as well as the dramatic increase in the quantity and quality of submissions. As a result of the substantial increase in submissions of original articles, the journal now only has a limited number of pages to publish a few significant case reports.

The periodical expertly draws on the knowledge of professionals working in the fields of anatomy, maxillo-facial surgery, neuro-opthalmology, neuro-radiology, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, and plastic surgery. It highlights new and emerging technology while also featuring surgical innovations in clinical studies. Crucial information, relating to the skull base for all medical surgical disciplines, including results and problems, is published in the journal.
