Thieme Donates Books for Doctors in Iraq
Denver, CO, OCTOBER 27 - Thieme has donated 20 copies of Dr. David F. Jimenez's book Intracranial Endoscopic Neurosurgery to the Ibn Sina Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq.

Dr. Richard Teff, one of two US military neurological surgeons currently stationed at the hospital, met the author Dr. Jimenez at the Thieme booth during the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) meeting in Denver, Colorado (Oct. 20 - 22).

Dr. Jimenez personally dedicated and signed all 20 copies of his book. An overjoyed Dr. Teff accepted the books in absence of his colleagues. He will carry the books back to Baghdad and will deliver them personally upon his return.

Due to the ongoing fighting in Iraq, Dr. Teff and his colleagues have had to treat a number of head wounds and traumatic brain injuries since the beginning of the war. Thieme is planning on donating more books in other specialties and will stay in touch with Dr. Teff to determine which books are needed most urgently.
