Annals of Otology and Neurotology

This Open Access journal is available to read for FREE on Thieme E-Journals.

Annals of Otology and Neurotology (AON) is the official scientific publication of the Indian Society of Otology (ISO), a professional body of clinicians practicing in the fields of surgical otology, neurotology and medical audiology, cosmetic otology, implantation otology, and allied disciplines.

Annals of Otology and Neurotology is a peer-reviewed international journal comprised of articles from clinicians and researchers in basic sciences related to hearing and balance disorders. The journal is expected to serve as an academic platform for interactions focused on the latest developments in clinical anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, as well as in diagnostics and therapeutics (surgical/non-surgical/rehabilitative measures) in otology and neurotology. It will also apprise practitioners of and update them on recent advancements in diagnosing and managing disorders in the auditory and vestibular systems. Publication will be in accordance to the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors and all submissions will be subjected to rigorous peer review.

The journal invites articles on surgical otology, medical audiology and neurotology, tinnitology, implantation otology, endoscopic ear surgery, cosmetic and reconstructive otology, basic sciences related to the auditory and vestibular systems, and oncology related to the ear. Submissions will be accepted from medical graduates working in these fields. The journal will publish original research articles, review articles, "how I do it" pieces, interesting case reports, and invited editorials on emerging trends in clinical practice (e.g. the pros and cons of a new technique, a new diagnostic/therapeutic instrument, or a specific drug). A competent editorial board, composed of eminent personalities and scientific celebrities in the disciplines of otology and neurotology, will run the journal.

AON requires that authors follow the ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly work in Medical Journals. More information can be found here: http://www.icmje.org
