Accessing Full Text
You may access the full text of each electronic book from the book homepage using either the table of contents or index buttons, unless you prefer to search the book(s) as described in Search Tips.
To use the index, simply click on the page numbers behind the individual keywords and you will be taken to the respective pages.
To use the table of contents, click on the plus signs to open one node of the unfolding table of contents and display the subchapters beneath. Once you have reached the lowest level you may enter the text page of the full text by clicking on the text information.
To use the simple search, just type in any keyword(s) into the search field. The Basic Search searches per default through all titles. To use the advanced search, click on Advanced Search beneath the search field. Please refer to our Search Tips below for complete information about our search functions.
Browsing Full Text
Once you have entered the full text level, your current location is displayed in the status line at the top of each page.
You have the option to browse the electronic book by using the Prev(ious) and Next chapter buttons.
You also have the option to change to the Full Screen view. Your current location is again displayed in the status line.
In Full Screen view you may also browse the electronic book by using the Prev(ious) and Next chapter buttons. You may return to original view by using the Back button.
Both views allow you to choose between a one-page and two-page spread of the respective PDF.
You may also bookmark an individual page in either view.
Adobe Acrobat Functions
Adobe Acrobat provides you with additional options in its menu to navigate and review the full text pages:
You may search within the current page using the binocular.
You may move to the previous/next page by using left/right arrows.
You may enlarge or minimize the contents via Zoom.
You may switch between one- or double-page spread, using the "Continuous" or "Continuous Facing" buttons.
You may switch between original-size, full-page, and full-width view.
You may rotate the view clockwise or counterclockwise using the Rotate View on the View menu.
Search Functions
You may choose between Basic and Advanced Search.
Basic Search
The basic search looks through all titles per default.
On book homepages, the basic search option runs a search across all books.
Advanced Search
The advanced search provides for a search across the entire website or only in the ElectronicBook Library.
The "Site Search" will only search the platform's service and information pages, it will not search books.
The "All Books" search will search through only the content of the books in the ElectronicBook Library.
You may limit the search to search to an individual book.
The default is set to "All Books" in the "Book Content Search."
Please remember that you may also use the interactive Index of each book to locate the information you need.

MARC 21 Records
The MARC 21 format is a standard for the representation and communication of bibliographic and related information in machine-readable form.
To learn more about MARC records, please visit the Library of Congress (LOC) at http://www.loc.gov/marc/. Machine-readable MARC records for all existing Thieme
ebooks can be downloaded here, in .mrc and .oc format. Depending on your system and your load table, you will need to choose the corresponding file format (i.e. ILS systems load .mrc-files).
MARC records for future titles will be available after the book has been added to Thieme's ElectronicBook Library.
