New Open-Access Companion Journal for the American Journal of Perinatology

New York/Stuttgart – Thieme is pleased to announce the addition of a new open access journal to its portfolio in 2011. AJP Reports has already published online a number of cases and clinical reports from the fields of neonatology, and maternal/fetal medicine. A companion to the American Journal of Perinatology, this unique open-access journal will also offer two free print issues a year that will be distributed to all print subscribers of its sister publication.

From 2011 onwards, all case reports submitted to the American Journal of Perinatology will be directed towards AJP Reports. “We believe that case reports are mostly accessed when clinicians are faced with patients who have unusual or rare conditions. For this reason, the clinical cases in AJP Reports will be open access and available for free to anyone,” says George R. Saade, MD, editor-in-chief of AJP Reports.

With an expanded and geographically diverse editorial board, this new publication hopes to present new clinical approaches to the pathology and treatment of a range of diseases and disorders encountered in maternal/fetal medicine and neonatology. AJP Reports also aims to promote a greater exchange of information between the various specialties and sub-specialties related to perinatology.

AJP Reports is a peer-reviewed journal, and once an article has been approved authors will pay a publication fee. All case reports are available to read and download for free from the Thieme eJournals platform. For further information and guidelines for submitting articles, please visit www.thieme.com/reportsajp.
