Biography

Anne M. Gilroy is an Associate Professor of Clinical Anatomy in the Division of Translational Anatomy within the Department of Radiology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) in Worcester, Massachusetts. She joined the UMMS faculty in 1989 after earning her master’s degree in biology from San Jose State University in California in 1980.

As a medical educator she coordinates anatomy programs for medical students and residents at all levels, and co-directs the anatomy and embryology components of the integrated first year curriculum. She also serves as Director of Anatomy and Imaging Resources for the medical school’s Inter-professional Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation (iCELS). In that role she focuses on curriculum development and the integration of innovative teaching methodologies using virtual anatomy and 3D imaging. Anne M. Gilroy is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Anatomists and the American Association of Anatomists.
