This book represents an atlas of surgical techniques in the treatment of diseases of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum.
Modern techniques of diagnostic and interventional endoscopy are included and described in detail. Each chapter begins with a brief survey of indications, special diagnostic aspects and patient preparation. This survey is followed by a description of the position of the patient and a scheme of possible approaches for surgery. The standard surgical procedures are described followed by demonstrations of special techniques for special and difficult situations. At the end of each chapter principal complications and possible techniques to handle them are described briefly.
