New York/Stuttgart - Thieme Publishers has won first prize in the 2008 American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence (the PROSE Awards) for both Atlas of Anatomy and Anatomy Flash Cards. Thieme Teaching Assistant Anatomy has received honorable mention.

Atlas of Anatomy is based on the work of Michael Schuenke, Erik Schulte, and Udo Schumacher and edited by Anne M. Gilroy, Brian R. MacPherson, and Lawrence M. Ross. Illustrations are by Markus Voll and Karl Wesker. Anatomy Flash Cards are based on the Atlas.

More than 2,000 illustrations from Atlas of Anatomy are featured on the Thieme Teaching Assistant ( This state-of-the-art, web-based platform enables professors and lecturers to incorporate dynamic visuals into their lectures and course material.
