
Biography
David Dines MD specializes in shoulder surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He was the President of the American Shoulder and Elbow Society from 2005 to 2006. Dr. Dines has published over 250 articles and chapters, as well as edited 5 books on shoulder-related topics. He is the co-developer of numerous Shoulder Arthroplasty Systems with Biomet Inc., a topic on which he has lectured extensively. Dr. Dines has served as Medical Director of the ATP World Men’s Tennis, Orthopedic Consultant to the United State Tennis Association and Davis Cup Tennis, and, formerly, the team physician for the New York Mets Baseball team. He has many academic honors including The Neer award for shoulder research (2005) and the Sir John Charnley Medal for outstanding achievement in shoulder joint arthroplasty(1996).
