Dr. Weaver was born in 1947 as the son of a neurosurgeon. His undergraduate education was at Hampden-Sydney College and, after a stint in the Marine Corps Reserves, he attended the University of Virginia Medical School. His neurosurgical training was at Tulane, after which he went into private practice in Roanoke, VA. He joined the Carilion Clinic Neurosurgery Department in 2013, where he currently continues an active practice on the degenerative spine. Dr. Weaver has been married to Fayetta for 44 years. They have 3 married children and 4 grandchildren.
