Do you have questions about translation and image rights? We are happy to support you with all topics concerning all kinds of permissions.
Purchasing permissions
If you are interested in purchasing permission to use material from one of your publications, please contact our licensing partner, the Copyright Clearance Center, via their licensing platforms on RightsLink or Marketplace:
RightsLink:
Simply visit Thieme connect and locate the desired content. Please go to the article abstract or book chapter you wish to reuse content from and click on “Permissions” on the right-hand side. This will lead you directly to the entry page on RightsLink where you can select your type of use. Should you be new to RightsLink, you will be asked to create an account.
(However, you do not need to register or log in to search Thieme Connect. The best way to search there is using the DOI.)
When selecting the book on the Thieme eRef platform, you will find the Permissions link on the top right of the page.
Please click here for step-by-step instructions: RightsLink-Step-By-Step
Marketplace:
Please visit https://marketplace.copyright.com/rs-ui-web/mp and search for the content you wish to reuse.
Here, too, you will have to set up a user account.
Please make sure to check whether the copyright to the requested content is owned by Thieme, or whether a different rights owner is indicated.
STM permissions agreement
Thieme has removed numerous illustrations and editions from the STM permissions agreement. These include, but are not limited to, all anatomical illustrations. For a complete list of titles whose contents are excluded from the STM agreement, please see here.
You are welcome to license individual illustrations from our publications for use in PowerPoint presentations for the design of your lectures or similar purposes. Please contact permission@thieme.com for this purpose. We will be happy to make you an offer.
Alternatively, you can obtain a license quickly and easily by going directly to the chapter or article via Thieme connect and following the "Rights and licenses" link there, choosing the usage type "Reuse in coursepack/classroom materials".
Here you find the bibliographical details of the book titles published by the Thieme Group since the founding of the publishing house in 1886. In case you miss a title in the list or are interested in using these works in printed or electronic form, please feel free to contact us.
If you would like to include your article in your thesis or dissertation, please see the respective policy here.
