To use Thieme's digital products, authentication is necessary. Several types of authentication are available: 

• Authentication via fixed IP addresses (Institutional Access)
• Authentication via Shibboleth/OpenAthens (Institutional Access)
• Authentication via Society Link (Institutional Access)
• Authentication via Username/password (Personal / Remote Access)

• A current internet browser (Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Edge, Opera, Safari, etc.).
• JavaScript must be enabled in the browser.
• The browser must accept cookies.
• Adobe Acrobat Reader or a suitable browser plugin is required to open PDF documents (print view, form sheets, etc.).
• A browser with HTML5 support must be installed on the client for video playback.

• If your organization uses a proxy to access Thieme's digital products, it must be configured accordingly.
• Many customers use EZProxy. For this service, OCLC publishes a valid stanza here: https://help.oclc.org/Library_Management/EZproxy/EZproxy_database_stanzas/Database_stanzas_T/Thieme?sl=en
• Remember to include the Cookie Law stanza in your EZ Proxy configuration as well. This stanza is not specific to Thieme. It is necessary to avoid known issues with cookie banners.

• If your organization does not operate EZProxy on its own servers (hosting by OCLC), there is no action required. 
• If your organization operates EZProxy on its own servers, please copy the OCLC stanza linked above into your EZProxy configuration.
