Thieme promotes the transfer of knowledge into practice, and facilitates the scientific discourse on which every discovery is based. This knowledge unfolds its benefits in patient care or drug development when applied. Physicians make diagnoses and select therapies on the basis of evidence-based findings. Chemists develop new and efficient synthesis methods on the basis of experiments conducted by their colleagues. 

Thieme is purposefully driving the dissemination of scientific findings with various cooperation partners. To this end, we have signed Read & Publish agreements with library consortia and research institutions. In addition, we are opening up renowned subscription journals for open access publications and transferring selected titles to gold-standard open access offerings. We make medical articles and chemical structures available to scientific networks and databases. The rights of our authors are assets we carefully protect. At the same time, we adhere to the requirements of important research funders.
